The 16-year-old player goes by the name Nooch, and has played video games with upside down controllers since he was a kid, according to his Reddit AMA someone linked in a reply to the tweet where he responded to a simple comment asking "Why."
Apparently he didn't have an instruction manual on hand.

Interestingly, Nooch appears to be playing with a Gamecube controller signed by Hungrybox in the Twitch clip.
Although Nooch's unorthodox playstyle is interesting to watch, it didn't do him any favors at the Shine 2017 tournament. He lost his first match in pools and was knocked out early.
Meanwhile, Hungrybox took first place in Meleesingles, earning yet another championship at a major Meleetournament.
