Supply chain sources suggest that the cost of bringing the 2nm process from the R&D (research and development) phase to mass production has reached $725 million. The foundry price per 2nm wafer will rise to $30,000, while the next-generation 1.4nm process is expected to command up to $45,000 per wafer. By the end of this year, TSMC’s monthly 2nm production capacity may hit 30,000 wafers, the report said.
